Ron DeSantis Proves Once Again He is the Best Governor in the United States

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is once again showing leadership in a country that is going off the rails. On Thursday morning, DeSantis’ press secretary Christina Pushaw announced that the governor is calling a special legislative session to pass protections for workers’ medical rights.

“Governor DeSantis just announced a special session to pass legislation to protect Floridians’ medical freedom and right to earn a living!” Pushaw tweeted. “Florida is fighting back against unjust and unscientific mandates.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has made himself enemy #1 of the Covid tyrants by showing that the state can withstand the coronavirus pandemic without severely curbing the rights of citizens. Despite having one of the nation’s highest elderly populations, the state has once again weathered a seasonal spike and still falls below restrictive states like New York and New Jersey in terms of state Covid-related mortality rate. The state’s case rate has fallen 90% since mid-August without locking down or implementing vaccine mandates.

Last week, the Florida Department of Health issued its first fine to a county that allegedly violated the state’s ban on vaccine mandates, Fox News reported. Leon County was fined $3.5 million for violating the state’s ban on the practice after it fired 14 workers for being unvaccinated.

“No one should lose their job because of COVID shots,” DeSantis said on Twitter. “We must protect the jobs of Floridians and preserve the ability of Floridians to make their own decisions regarding what shots to take.”

In addition to outlawing firing workers for being unvaccinated, Florida’s governor has signed legislation banning vaccine passports and arbitrary lockdowns. The state now appears to be poised to protect workers from President Biden’s still-unissued federal vaccine mandate. The nation could use about 49 more governors like Ron DeSantis.
